- The biggest career drivers for tech professionals in Portugal are salary & benefits, work-life balance and career progression.
- Hybrid work is on the rise: 45% work in a hybrid mode, 46% full remote, and only 9% go to the office every day.
- 16% of tech professionals in Portugal are working remotely for a company in another country.
- 47,1% of tech professionals don't want to leave Portugal.
- 24,5% want to relocate to another continent because of salary and quality of life.
- Full-stack, Back-end and Front-end developers represent roughly half of all developers.
- The gender pay gap is much higher in management roles (58%, up from 47.4% in 2023 versus 16.2% in 2021) than in development roles (26.3%, down from 29.3% in 2023).
- Contractors earn, on average, 30.6% more in gross annual salary than full-time employees, but this gap has reduced a lot since last year (it was 58.1%).
- Scale-ups and Startups continue to pay higher salaries than all other company types.
